Two senior administrators of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) Mrs. Theodora Oduro and Ms. Susana Asamoah, Esq., have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Registrar, marking significant milestones in careers spanning university administration, student support, development planning and institutional governance.
Mrs. Oduro, a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), has served as Senior Assistant Registrar and Head of the Office of Student Support and Financial Services under the Directorate of Student Affairs since March 2019.
She joined KNUST’s administrative system in 2016, bringing more than 18 years of experience in project management, administration and facilitation. Before moving to the Directorate of Student Affairs, she served as Zonal Coordinator for the Midland Zone of the Institute of Distance Learning.
At Student Affairs, Mrs. Oduro has played key roles in coordinating scholarships and bursaries, the KNUST Food and Clothing Bank, freshers’ orientation programmes, student elections and other student support initiatives.
She holds a degree in Sociology and Law, a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Management and an MSc in Development Planning and Management. She also holds a Master Certificate in Applied Project Management from Villanova University.
Ms. Asamoah, a lawyer, development planning professional and university administrator, brings three decades of experience across public administration, higher education and legal practice.
She began her professional career in 1996 as a Senior Development Planning Officer, serving with the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regional Coordinating Councils before joining KNUST in 2006.
At KNUST, she has served in several administrative roles, including Assistant Registrar in the Human Resource Development Division, Senior Assistant Registrar in the Examinations Office, School Secretary at the School of Medical Sciences and Faculty Registrar for the Faculty of Art, College of Art and Built Environment. She has also served as Senior Assistant Registrar and Manager in the General Administration Division.
Her administrative experience includes service as Secretary to several University committees, including the Senior Staff Appointments and Promotions Committee, Examinations Audit Committee, Accra Guesthouse Management Committee and Board of Survey.
Beyond KNUST, Ms. Asamoah has served on a number of institutional boards and committees, including the Council of Valley View University, KNUST Council of Convocation and the Board of Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL).
She holds a BA in Economics and Law, an MSc in Development Planning and Policy and an LLB from KNUST. She also holds a Barrister-at-Law qualification from the Ghana School of Law and an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Ghana.
Ms. Asamoah has contributed to research in higher education administration and governance and has presented papers at international conferences. In 2021, she was named Best Senior Member in the Administrative and Professional category at the College of Art and Built Environment Excellence Awards.
